The meticulous standard of interiors on board large yachts has become synonymous with luxury and style. These interiors reflect the vision of sophisticated yacht owners and are the precious antiques of the future. We also see a similar trend in the private aircraft industry, where the interiors of personal planes are also being turned into icons of good taste. As private aircrafts increase in size, the demand for top quality interiors has grown exponentially. Struik & Hamerslag Aviation is a separate business unit for this niche market. The craftsmanship on and vast experience of super yachts is the foundation for this speciality. Another crucial factor that unifies the two forms of transportation is the need to control weight. At the same time, we fully recognise that the specific requirements of the aircraft industry require a different approach and discipline. Struik & Hamerslag Aviation clients are certified completion centres. Aircraft interiors are produced in our dedicated workshop according to these clients’ designs and under their supervision.
Although the number of new inoffshore platforms in the North Sea has declined, hundreds of production units still remain operational on the European Continental Shelf. Our involvement with new platforms in the past continues to serve as the basis for our commitment to the offshore industry of today and tomorrow. Struik & Hamerslag has been involved in the architectural outfitting of many offshore platforms and understands the specific requirements and logistic circumstances of these production units. One of our core activities is the refurbishment of interiors on existing platforms. We also carry out specialised interior conversions on location so that the units stay up to date without having to cease operations. A dedicated team of certified and trained staff is at your disposal… from engineering to installation, Struik & Hamerslag will ensure your project is a success.
Our UK-based daughter company Struik & Hamerslag UK Ltd. produces interior works for projects to the same standard as the parent company in The Netherlands. Apart from manufacturing interior, this business unit provides special finishes. The art of special finishes is highly developed in the region of Norfolk and when mother nature does not have a specific finish in her rich pallet, we are able to make one for you. Gold and silver leaf, metal powders in resins or fantasy artwork: the unique ideas of interior designers always inspire us.
Struik & Hamerslag has been involved in interiors for commercial ships since the foundation of the company in 1964. This gives us an unrivalled understanding of the specific requirements of ship’s accommodation and the ability to provide interiors for quite literally every type of ship afloat today. Repairs and conversions of interiors also belong to our core activities, again leveraging on our vast experience. Prefabrication and preparation activities are carried out at our location in Strijen (NL), while interior conversions can be realised worldwide.
